About me

Hello there! My name is Peter Lovett and I teach 3rd - 5th grade Social Studies and Writing. I am delighted to back in the classroom here at Ascension. I was born and raised here in Louisville. I went to Minnesota for college where I received my Bachelors Degree in Music Education from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN. I returned to Louisville and received my Masters in Choral Conducting from the University of Louisville. I also have a Bachelors of Arts in Psychology and my Juris Doctorate from the University of Louisville. 

I have over a decade of teaching experience from the elementary through collegiate level. I worked as a prosecutor at the Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office until pandemic began in 2020. I left the prosecutor’s office to stay at home with my two sons who were just beginning elementary school. Now that they are older, I am returning to the classroom and excited for the upcoming year at Ascension. 

I live in Louisville with my wife, Jamie, and our two boys. I enjoy music, photography, travel, hiking and biking, and reading when I get the opportunity. Please feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions via email: plovett@ascension-parish.com
