WHAT WE ARE LEARNING

LA: MRS. PHELPS

This week we will review for our figurative language quiz on Wednesday. We will continue to explore poetry and the poetic devices that poets use to help create emotion, mood, and imagery within their writing.  We are really focusing on diving deep into a poem to discover what the author wants us to feel, what story they are trying to tell, and how they use figurative language to do so.

If we have time, we are also going to be reviewing some capitalization rules (specifically in titles). This will be helpful or the upcoming Language Usage MAP test.

Homework: Figurative Language Quiz on Wednesday (Use poetry journal from class and Kahoot on google classroom to study)

MATH: MRS. BENNETT

This week in Math class we will take the Spring Math MAP test! Students are working hard towards their growth goals!

Homework:

No homework this week!

SOCIAL STUDIES: MRS. CRUSH

We will be continuing our centers about our state of Kentucky for the next few weeks. We are learning about state symbols, flag, inventions, major waterways, cities, attractions, and more.

RELIGION: MRS CRUSH

We will complete Chapter 7, "God Makes Promises to His People," in our Word of Life workbooks.  In this chapter, students will begin to understand that the Old Covenant is fulfilled by the New Covenant, to know that the prophecy of Genesis 3:15 is a prophecy made by God about the Messiah, to know that God chose people to serve as prophets, and to know that the covenants God makes with Noah and Abraham advance His plan to make Himself known to all people.
