WHAT WE ARE LEARNING

LA: MRS. PHELPS

We had a blast watching the movie, Wonder! It was great to see the book brought to life. I love knowing the great life lessons the class was able to take away from this book. This week. They will finish their art projects (many have already finished theirs. I will be taking pictures and uploading them next week! They will also be developing their very own precept (a basic rule, principle, or directive that guides action, moral conduct, or thought). This can be found through searching quotes on the internet or created on their own. They will do writing to explain why that precept is important to them and how it applies to their life.

MorphologyLast week we made our cards for 4 new Greek bases. We will be spending more time on this this week for morphology.

Homework: Morphology Quiz Friday over 4 Greek bases

Theme worksheet due by the start of class Tuesday (many students have turned this in, but those who have not, must have it done. We have had multiple days in class to work on this, if not completed Monday, they can take it home for homework.

MATH: MRS. BENNETT

This week in Math class we are starting our next chapter- Fraction Equivalence and Comparison. Students will start by connecting fractions to division. Students will see how fractions are a spitting of a whole into equal groups, just like division. We will start by using visuals and models to compare fractions. We will then use benchmarks (0, 1/2, 1) to compare fractions with different numerators and different denominators.

3/19- SS #102

3/20- SS #103
