Language Arts- Mrs. Phelps

Monday came with its set of challenges and we did not get to watch the movie, Because of Winn Dixie. I am determined to figure out the issue and try again Tuesday! Since the movie was already taking up some class time this week, we will not be having homework. We will continue to focus on the parts of speech this week, specifically, verbs, adverbs, conjunctions, prepositions and interjections. We are also going to be discussing how Winn Dixie contributed to Opal developing so many friendships throughout the story (cause and effect relationships).

Morphology:  This week we will learn one suffix -ly, meaning "like or manner of" (adverb/adjective). Key words include: friendly, softly, sadly

Homework: No Homework this week!

On Fridays during Lent, the students participate in a call and response Stations of the Cross. With them going in the mornings, they are also fortunate to be in the church during Adoration. We spend a few minutes at the end in silence to pray and listen to Jesus.

We will complete our Saints Madness project this week and the tournament will begin on Wednesday! Students will need to have their videos completed before they leave for school on Tuesday as questions will be gathered from their videos Tuesday afternoon. The updated timeline is below.
