WHAT WE ARE LEARNING

LA: MRS. PHELPS

This week (Tuesday and Wednesday) students will get to watch the movie, Wonder! I am so excited to watch this with them. The book was amazing and had me crying like a baby while I read the final chapters out loud to them. We will spend Thursday and Friday working on art projects that are a work in progress and evaluating the various themes of Wonder (kindness, tolerance, intolerance, coming of age).

Morphology:  This week, if we have the time to fit it in, we will be learning a new group of Greek bases. These are learned in groups of 4. They are; cray/cracy, geo, meter, and therm.

Homework: No homework. Take a break! IXL skill plans are always an option for extra practice!

MATH: MRS. BENNETT

This week in Math class we will wrap-up our division chapter! Students will continue to practice interpreting remainders. They are learning 4 different ways to interpret remainders: round it, ignore it, use it, and report it. Students will also work on problems that divide a 4-digit number by a 1-digit number when there is a 0 in the quotient. Students will complete a comprehensive classwork assignment to wrap up our chapter, rather than a test on Friday.

Homework:

Since it is a short week, I wanted to change up our homework routine a bit. By Friday, students should complete two IXL's listed on their Math Skill Plan. Students know how to find this on their iPads. Students will also be given time in class to work on their homework in case they need support. I know some students do not know how to do some of the skills listed on their plans. They can either pick one they can accomplish independently, or they are welcome to come see me during morning/afternoon homeroom and I will work with them! Feel free to reach out to me with questions or feedback!

3/12- Work on IXL Skill Plan

3/13- Work on IXL Skill Plan

3/14- Work on IXL Skill Plan

3/15- Two IXL's should be complete to 100% by today!

The above problem requires students to turn the remainder into a fraction!

The above scenario requires students to add one more to the quotient!

SOCIAL STUDIES: MRS. CRUSH

Students will continue presenting their Midwest Landmark projects. Afterwards, we are going to be working on our Kentucky Counties research project. Students have started to work on these during their Technology class.

We are continuing our Saints Madness tournament! During each class, the students learn and watch the students' iMovies of at most eight saints and then answer questions about the saints.

3rd Trimester Service Hours + Reflection due Wednesday, May 15

Stations of the Cross

On Fridays during Lent, the students participate in a call and response Stations of the Cross.  We spend a few minutes at the end in silence to pray and listen to Jesus.
