WHAT WE ARE LEARNING

LA: MRS. PHELPS

This week, we are reading various books on similar topics that have common themes. We will be getting practice summarizing stories, identifying theme and providing evidence, determining cause and effect relationships, and comparing and contrasting the themes with one another. We are doing ALL THE THINGS with 2-3 really great texts! We are going to be exposed to a lot of rich vocabulary and will be discussing how to use context to determine meaning, but we will not have a vocabulary quiz.

Please enjoy the photos below of the 4th graders, Wonder inspired, art work. These will be hanging up at school for awhile and then they will be sent home.

Homework: No Homework!

Have a great spring break!!!

MATH: MRS. BENNETT

This week in Math class students are learning how to compare fractional amounts using different strategies. Students will start by comparing fractions with the same sized parts (denominator) and the same number of parts (numerator.) We will then progress to compare fractions using benchmarks. Students will compare fractions to 1/2 to help them determine which amount is greater.

Homework:

Students need to complete two IXL's from their Math Skill Plan to 100%. Students will be given class time to work on their IXL's and can always come ask for support if they are having trouble with the skills on their plan! These due need to be compelted by Thursday, since we do not have school Friday!

SOCIAL STUDIES: MRS. CRUSH

Last week, the students were looking at different artifacts that are present at the Kentucky State Museum that land surveyors would have used on the frontier life. We are going to learn more about our state of Kentucky to better prepare before our trip to the Kentucky State Capital.

RELIGION: MRS CRUSH

We are continuing our Saints Madness tournament! During each class, the students learn and watch the students' iMovies of at most eight saints and then answer questions about the saints.
