First we checked to see whether our Usernames and Passwords for the SAT site worked, after having taken the PSATs last fall. If you were able to log in, please send me the information so you and I can keep it in a known place. If not, please do what you can to have this information working for next class. As much as I can, I will be customizing your lesson plans to help you "work your weakness."
We completed a 25 minute constructed response in the argument form: (ICW, 2x)
Conducted a class introduction, went over Guidelines and Expectations, etc.
Students were asked to make a brief presentation on their future academic goals, some ideas about college reach, and then were asked to research SAT bands to strive for.
Homework:
Find out your PSAT scores - either by finding the paper or by fixing your username/password. If you're having difficulties with this (as A.P. is, for example), please email me. My Contact Info is on an aptly named page, in the footer of this page.
Take a pre-test on Quack Lists #1-#3, one at a time. Save the results, as PDFs, to your desktop so that you can review them. Test yourself in whichever way you choose, but make sure that you've chosen 20/20 terms, please.
Review the Guidelines & Expectations info. Ask questions. Prep the materials, if you can (Juno, Kari, and Linus have made this part difficult). Please do NOT venture out of your homes to do this. (Independent Work - to be checked on Feb. 5 & 6)
Is the SAT still a relevant measure of one’s ability to achieve academic and career success? Please write an argument essay that is both personal and connected to important ideas that you’ve encountered thus far in life.
