- We had a six - eight minute QuickWrite on #1 on p. 73.
- We had E.D. read it aloud, and folks were supposed to take their light annotations to medium/heavy annotations during that time.
- We filled out TP-CASTTs (see pp. 461-462 for the graphic organizer and description).
- We finished #3's graphic organizer (p. 74).
- We deconstructed the writing prompt on p. 77 while the finishing touches were put on the EA1 round one feedback slips. People were supposed to look up the meaning of synthesize if they were fully aware of its meaning.
Homework, in preparation for an EARLY RELEASE SCHEDULE on December 10:
- Make sure that you've read and re-read the Keynote Address to the 2004 Democratic National Convention (the reading associated with 1.17)
- Do two QuickWrites:
- 1) How has your thinking about the American Dream grown? (Second question, #2, p. 78), and
- 2) Does the United State [sic] still provide access to the American Dream for everyone? (p. 84)
