We:
- quickly reviewed our rhetorical appeals to see if we can define and then apply them
(imagery, tone, theme, syntax, writer's voice, diction - also simile and characterization - though these last two weren't in our original list of Word Wall
vocab)
- wrote out the name and definitions for as many of the eight Parts of Speech as we could, as a pre-test
- filled in any gaps in our Parts of Speech knowledge
- started looking at Activity 1.9 on pages 34 - 40: Two Versions of One Memory. Specifically, I went over any special terms in the story "Always Running."
- started working on the graphic organizer on page 34 that relates to the two pieces of literature in this activity.
Homework:
Finish Activity 1.9 on pages 34 - 40: Two Versions of One Memory. Do the graphic organizer on page 34.
