The English 11 CP Mid-term will be comprised of the following:
Vocabulary - matching - worth 30% of your mid-term

3) Be prepared to write an in-class, hand-written analytic essay on the following prompt:
If artistic expression advances social commentary (as we've recently been discussing while studying Arthur Miller's play The Crucible), choose a minimum of three pieces of literature, art, film, drama and/or music that seem to be commenting on The American Dream. These artistic / literary / musical / theatric / film pieces must have some meaning to you. Your essay must analyze the pieces and address the social commentary that they make. Additionally, you need to explain the importance of this art / literature / music / theater / film to specific aspects of your life.
