Intro of "15 free for me!" schedule, rationales, etc.
Day 1: "15 Free for Me!" - free write
Independent, in-class, "supported struggle" work to do:
Activities
1.4;
1.5;
1.7 (yes, we're skipping 1.6 - unless you plan to go into Pre-Law, History, English, Secondary Education - English or History, etc.);
1.8;
1.9
My suggested order, in terms of the logical progression of these activities and your critical thinking needs:
a) deconstruct the prompt;
b) write a driving question that will drive both your annotating and your written response;
c) annotate; and
d) we will have a class discussion, followed directly by a drafting session for each written piece - which you will finish at home.
After all of the writing is done, we will have a Write, Revise, Repeat writing workshop on all five pieces, in small groups.

“15 Free for Me!”: please work on finding Spicy Diction:
Take every piece of writing you've done thus far this year - anything you can find in Google Docs or in your writer's notebooks. Go on a search for times that you wish you had had a broader, deeper vocabulary because you didn't quite hit the mark with detail. Transfer the sentence to either a Google Doc or a piece of paper, and re-read it to see which spot includes the "pit of vagueness." Where is the spot where a stronger vocab could have helped you do your job for Constant Reader that much better?
This is the concept to dig into for spicier diction. Go online and find alternatives to this word. Instead of looking at a thesaurus, put in the search terms "diction and ______" (the blank being the word that you'd like to have more choices for...).
Good luck and just do your best!
Then, complete a Reflection on the College and Career Fair from yesterday:
After you’re done with this work, please work on your Khan Academy Level Ups or your ABCs of the ABCD Critical Thinking, Reading, Writing Process that I explained the other day. (Look above for the directions...)
