This week:
We will be conducting Socratic Seminars on our American Dream novels until everyone has had an opportunity.
People who are not engaged in the seminars (participating or scoring), should be quietly working on:
1) reading and deconstructing **just** the assignment block on p. 87 (Synthesizing the American Dream), using these guidelines:
> What is the central question?
> What skills / knowledge exist in the assignment that you hope to learn by the time we write this essay?
> What vocab did you have to Q and H?
(There's now a paper for this... )
2) Activity 1.11
3) pre-test: define the following:
hook, claim, support, concessions, refutations, call to action
look up definitions in the glossary to fill in gaps in knowledge - use a grading pen for this so I can glance at it to see % correct

4) read and do light annotations on Activities 1.12 - 1.18 - we will work through them over the next two weeks
