Your mid-term exam will have three parts:
- Real-life reflection on what you learned during the first part of Unit 1 - up to and including Embedded Assessment #1 (40 points);- Your reflection must include: coming of age, writer's voice, how to conduct a good interview, changing interview notes into a narrative, diction, imagery, tone
 
- Real-life reflection on what you learned during the second part of Unit 1 - up to and including Embedded Assessment #2 (40 points);- Your reflection must include: factors that influence readers' selections of books, key features of a novel, what advertising elements meet a target audience's needs, and advertising and rhetorical appeals of advertisements. and
 
- Short answer vocabulary of our Unit 1 Academic Vocabulary, Roots #1 list, and the eights Parts of Speech(20 points).- Practice Parts of Speech labeling here.
