In Period 5, we:

• looked closely at the texts in 1.7, learning how to use the following sentence frame to analyze literature:

When (the author) writes, "(excerpt here)," on page / in lines (page number / line numbers here), the reader is better able to understand (concept the author wants you to understand / 'get' from the writing) because of (author's) use of (rhetorical appeal).

Homework: continue to look at the sentence frames in relation to how to analyze literature. No specific work related to this.

In Period 7, we:

• continued to work on our Interviews.

Homework: finish your interviews, making sure that all of the following are in place:

>>be sure that your Interviews are:

1. finished;
2. revised and edited;
3. contain only open-ended questions;
4. are double-spaced;
5. contain 12 pt. font;
6. contain your name and class period in a neat and tidy header; and
7. printed before class. :)
