Week of March 27 - 31, Q3, Week 9 - Quarter Ends Friday!

Work due this week:

_____ anything and everything that I've marked with a "zero and missing" in the grade book (I will be updating the collected/missing status on Sunday and Monday, to be

finished Monday night - assuming my health/energy holds out);

_____ exit tickets after the reading and essay sections of the SAT (Reading: Friday 3/24 - 2Black & Monday 3/27 -- Essay: Tuesday 3/28 & Wednesday 3/29); and

_____ any societal conflict scene work we're able to accomplish on Thursday/Friday (probably just a check in about progress / research).

Ramp Up to the SATs - the schedule...

Day 2: Friday 24 March 2Black and Monday 27 March 3Green & 4Green

• pretty much all class - SAT Reading section,
• followed by quick exit ticket about skills / confidence / etc with a checklist for possibilities (pacing, strategies, skim and scan, summarizing, looking for main idea / theme, annotating, etc.).

Day 3: Tuesday 28 March 2Black and Wednesday 29 March 3Green and 4Green

(one 78minute section or two 63 min sections)

• pretty much all class - SAT Essay section, same as above, except more customized to this section

Day 4: Thursday 30 March 2Black and Friday 31 March 3Green and 4Green

• first 20ish minutes of class - results of SATs handed out, quick discussion, last-minute brush-up ideas, check-in on BigFuture about how close/far you all are from mid-range and stretch NOW (after PSATs - what was growth?)
• the rest of the time - societal conflict scene assessment work time

NEXT WEEK's Schedule

Day 5: Monday April 3 and Tuesday April 4

• quick review at the end of class of what they'll need to bring with them tomorrow, the time to show up, etc.
• the rest of the time - assessment, probably drafting via Google Docs

Wednesday April 5 - for ALL of you: SAT here at school - we're not going to UMF.
