I have a sub, so here is the **overplanned** sub plan. Do what you can. :)
1. Do the “Unpacking Embedded Assessment 2” part of Activity 1.11 on pp. 53. Look up any of the vocabulary that you are uncertain of in the glossary, so that we’re looking over the same definitions. We’ll review them on Tuesday.
2. Also do the survey on p. 54. The directions are a bit unclear, so I’ve made a clarified set of them. I will leave photocopies with Ms. Poirier.
3. Do the Quickwrite on the bottom of p. 54. You don’t have to have a class discussion, but if you do, keep it reasonable. Jared – could you please lead it, as practice for being a history teacher? J
4. Make sure you have a detailed working definition of the American Dream. E.S-H – you may want to do a bit of Internet research on this, but the young men may also have some guidance for you. Please include your definition of the American Dream in your Google Doc, E.
5. Do the QuickWrite on p. 68 (Before Reading, #1).
6. Choose your top four quotes – strong agreement or strong disagreement and write why you strongly agree or disagree with each one.
7. Read and lightly annotate Activity 1.17, pp. 81-83 for examples that defend or challenge the American Dream. If so, why? Put your answers in your annotations.
