Monday (11.10)
Learning Target:
When students leave my classroom, they will have read the first two chapters of Steal Like an Artist. Students will be introduced to the importance of culture and creativity, both vital to the book.
Classroom Tasks:
First, students will share their reactions to the first two chapters of the book.
Second, intro Keynote to innovation and creativity.
Finally, students will watch a TED ed Talk and complete that for Tuesday.
Homework:
Students will complete the TED ed Talk. Students will be assigned the rest of the book and complete the accompanying guides.
Evidence:
Discussion of reactions to the first two chapters; TED ed assignment.
Tuesday (11.11)
Learning Target:
When students leave my classroom, they will have analyzed the concept of "Everything is a Remix" having watched the first two episodes in class. Students will respond to them via the blog.
Classroom Tasks:
First, we will discuss reactions to Kleon Tedx Talk.
Second, students will watch the first two episodes of "Everything is a Remix" and respond on the blog.
Third, students will have class time to watch the final two episodes of "Everything is a Remix" and respond on the blog. Students can also finish reading the book.
We will discuss the concept of quitting and visualize the dip.
Homework:
Last two episodes of "Everything is a Remix" and finish reading the book.
Evidence:
Discussion and blog entries.
Wednesday (11.12)
Learning Target:
When students leave my classroom, they will have been introduced to how to construct a lesson plan for their selected chapter of Steal Like an Artist. Students will begin constructing their lessons for next week.
Classroom Tasks:
First, I will introduce students to our lesson plan format.
Second, I will walk students through a sample lesson plan.
Third, students will have class time to finish the book and guides and then to compose their lessons.
Homework:
Finish reading the book and compose their lesson plans.
Evidence:
Discussion and examination of guides and lesson plans.
Thursday (11.13)
Learning Target:
When students leave my classroom, they will have had time to both finish the book and to complete their lesson plan for their selected chapter.
Classroom Tasks:
Work day to finish the book (and guides) and to work in their groups to compose their lessons.
Homework:
Finish reading the book (and guides) and compose their lesson.
Evidence:
Reading guide and lessons.
Friday (11.14)
Learning Target:
When students leave my classroom, they will have highlighted the main ideas from each chapter. Students will also be ready to present their lessons to the class beginning next week.
Classroom Tasks:
First, we will share our highlights and take aways from the chapters of the book.
Second, fine tune their lessons.
Third, students will share their lessons with me and plans.
Homework:
Students will complete their guides and sign up for dates to present their lessons.
Evidence:
Discussion; guides; and lessons.
