Check for understanding for vital knowledge: What happened at the end of "The Lottery?" And most importantly: why? How does "The Lottery" reflect the themes of the dangers of tradition and gender issues.

Students will learn about the significant literary theories via a Keynote slideshow with video examples.
Classroom Tasks -
Take notes on the significant literary theories from the slideshow and apply them to both "The Lottery" from early in the week and to "A Rose for Emily," which we are reading for Thursday.
