Monday (3.16)
Learning Target:
When I leave Mr. Reynolds' room, I have taken my final test on Sir Ken Robinson's The Element.
Classroom Tasks:
Students will take their final test on The Element. The test is comprised of short answer, short essay, and long essay sections.
Homework:
Finish 4.3 (best moment of their braided essay).
Evidence:
Students will illustrate their knowledge of key ideas, people, and passages from The Element via their final test. Students will also submit their best moment narrative for their braided essay.
Tuesday (3.17)
Learning Target:
When I leave Mr. Reynolds' room, I have used the class time to either work on 4.4 (epiphany moment narrative) or free read my first novel for College Comp.
Classroom Tasks:
Students will have work time to write or read.
Homework:
Finish 4.4 and continue to read their novel for their research paper and first novel test.
Evidence:
Students will submit 4.4 on Wednesday and take a novel test next week and have their first novel research paper due the week after that.
Wednesday (3.18)
Learning Target:
When I leave Mr. Reynolds' room, I have used the class time to either work on braided my essays together for the final draft of theme #4 (the braided essay) or free read my first novel for College Comp.
Classroom Tasks:
Students will have work time to write or read.
Homework:
Finish theme #4 and continue to read their novel for their research paper and first novel test.
Evidence:
The final draft of them #4 will be due Friday. Then students will take a novel test next week and have their first novel research paper due the week after that.
Thursday (3.19)
Learning Target:
When I leave Mr. Reynolds' room, I finished learning about literary theories (finishing up the slideshow from last week) and then have time to free read my novel.
Classroom Tasks:
Students will have work time to write or read.
Homework:
Finish theme 4 and continue to read their novel for their research paper and first novel test.
Evidence:
Students will their braided essay tomorrow and take a novel test next week and have their first novel research paper due the week after that.
Friday (3.20)
Learning Target:
When I leave Mr. Reynolds' room, I have turned in my braided essay and begun applying my literary theory knowledge to my novel.
Classroom Tasks:
Students will have work time to write or read. Students will write a short one page analysis of a literary theory evident in their novels.
Homework:
Finish reading their novel for their research paper and first novel test.
Evidence:
Students will submit their one page essay focusing on a literary theory evident in their novels by Monday. They will also begin taking their novel test on Monday.
