Monday - April 9
Learning Target - Students will begin a rough draft of a rite of passage narrative.
Classroom Activities - Work time on rite of passage narrative. I will drop in via Drive and answer questions and help students develop their essays.
Evidence of Learning - Students will write a rough draft of a rite of passage and share it with my by the end of the block.
Tuesday - April 10
Learning Target - Students will continue to develop their rough draft of a rite of passage narrative.
Classroom Activities - Work time on rite of passage narrative. I will give students a list of things to choose from to include in their rite of passage essay (dialogue, thoughts, plot layout and so on)
Evidence of Learning - Students will write a rough draft of a rite of passage and share it with my by the end of the block.
Wednesday - April 11 - LINC/Early Out
Learning Target - Students will peer edit their essays and share them with me.
Classroom Activities - Students will complete a peer edit guide.
Evidence of Learning - Students will share their rough draft with me.
Thursday - April 12
Learning Target - Students will begin reading the book The Thief of Always by Clive Barker.
Classroom Activities - Begin reading the short book aloud to students. Read Ch. 1 and 2.
Evidence of Learning - Students will answer questions aloud as we read, take end of the section quizzes, as well as submit their stories with the Stickies in them and write a persuasive paragraph concerning the ending.
Friday - April 13
Learning Target - Students will return to their rough drafts of their narratives and revise them one last time, including checking off the required elements on their rubrics.
Classroom Activities - Students will have time to revise their essays and submit them with the proper rubric.
Homework - Ch. 3 of The Thief of Always.
Evidence of Learning - Students will submit a fully developed narrative essay. Student will read Ch. 3 of The Thief of Always over the weekend and complete the guide.
