Monday - Feb. 20

Tuesday- Feb. 21
Learning Target - Students will be able to submit an effective and engaging narrative on either an expertise or rite of passage for peer review on Tuesday. The narrative must be 4 pages long, contain multi-paragraphs, and use dialogue, thoughts, and suspense to illustrate either their rite of passage or expertise.
Classroom Activities - Peer edit. Take quiz on Ch. 3 of The Element. Introductory keynote to Ch. 4 "In the Zone."
Homework - Read Ch. 4 "In the Zone" of The Element. Complete the Ch. 4 guide. Have a final draft of theme #2 ready to submit by Thursday.
Evidence of Learning - Students will illustrate their understanding of the key features of being "in the zone" and how that relates to being in the element on the guide and quiz.
Wednesday - LINC - Feb. 22
Learning Target - Students will explain why it is important to belong to a tribe and how a tribe can help you overcome barriers to finding your element/passion in Ch. 5 "Finding Your Tribe."
Classroom Activities - Students will read Ch. 5 and complete the assignment.
Homework - Read Ch. 6 ("What Will They Think") and complete the final draft of theme #6.
Evidence of Learning - Students will illustrate their understanding of the importance of a tribe and dealing with barriers in finding their elements on tomorrow's quiz on Ch. 5 and 6.
Thursday - Feb. 23
Due : Theme #2 (narrative - either your rite of passage or expertise)
Learning Target - Students will discuss the role lucky plays in their lives and how finding your element and being in your element improves your luck.
Classroom Activities - Discussion of key figures, ideas, and main take aways form Ch. 7, "Do You Feel Lucky." Students will have time to complete Ch. 7.
Homework - Finish. Ch. 7 and begin Ch. 8 "Somebody Help Me."
Evidence of Learning - Students will show their understanding of the role luck plays in their lives and how being in your element actually improves your luck via discussion.
Friday -Feb. 24
Learning Target - Students will discuss the importance of having mentors and explore who they can be mentored by and who they can actually mentor.
Classroom Activities - Reading time for Ch. 9-10.
Homework - Finish. Ch. 9 and 10 and assignments.
Evidence of Learning - Students will show their understanding of the how it is never too late to find your element - using Cliff Young as an example - and how money is all that it's cracked up to be - using the book What You're (Really) Meant to do - as an example.
