Monday - 9.18
Learning Target - When students leave Mr. Reynolds class, they will have defined what the "Dream Job Elixer" is and how control over what you do is one of the most valuable traits for work that is meaningful.
Classroom Activities - Discuss Ch. 8 and begin work on Ch. 9 and 10. Students will be divided up and create a lesson plan or demonstration for either Ch. 9 or 10. All will have to read Ch. 11 and explain how to avoid the control traps.
Homework - Read Ch. 9 and/or 10 and Ch. 11. Come up with a presentation to the class to deliver on Tuesday.
Evidence of Learning - Students will clearly show in their demonstration what their control trap is and how to avoid it.
Note - Exploratory essay will be due next Monday.
Tuesday - 9.19
Learning Target - When students leave Mr. Reynolds class, have learned from each other about what the control traps are and how to avoid them.
Classroom Activities - Listen to student demonstrations/presentations.
Homework - Read Ch. 12 and respond to quotes.
Evidence of Learning - Students will illustrate the control traps and how to avoid them in their presentations and ask questions.
Note - Exploratory essay will be due next Monday.
Wednesday - 9.20 - LINC
Learning Target - When students leave Mr. Reynolds class, they will be able to explain why Pardis Sabeti has meaningful work and what led her to have such meaning in her work.
Classroom Activities - Work on exploratory essay (due Monday).
Homework - Work on exploratory essay.
Evidence of Learning - Students in discussion and a short written assignment will be able to state why Sabeti has meaningful work and how they might apply that to their own work now.
Thursday - 9.21 - sub
Learning Target - When students leave Mr. Reynolds class, they will have begun drafting their exploratory essay, due next Monday.
Classroom Activities - Work on exploratory essay.
Homework - Share a draft of their exploratory essay with me.
Evidence of Learning - Students will - on Monday - submit a 4-6 page MLA formatted exploratory essay on a topic of their choice that illustrates their research and their exploration.
Friday - 9.22 - sub
