Monday - Continue intro to theme #5 (Mental Health Survival Guide)
Learning Target - When students leave Mr. Reynolds class, they will have listened to Mr. Stock talk about some of the mental health issues that he has seen. Students will begin examining the two mental health issues they will focus on for theme #5.
Classroom Activities - Q & A with Mr. Stock. Watch Digital Nation. Work time on the Storify link.
Homework - Continue to work on the Inception essay, due Friday.
Evidence of Learning - Students will take Mr. Stock's information let it guide them in their paper.
Tuesday - Select mental health issues and media center day
Learning Target - When students leave Mr. Reynolds class, they will have drawn one mental health disorder to research and they will have selected an issue of their own choosing to research in the media center.
Classroom Activities - Finish Digital Nation and work in the Media Center.
Homework - None
Evidence of Learning - Students will illustrate their research on theme #5.
Wednesday (LINC) and Thursday
Learning Target - When students leave Mr. Reynolds class, they will have drawn one mental health disorder to research and they will have selected an issue of their own choosing to research in the media center.
Classroom Activities - Work in the Media Center.
Homework - Develop 10 questions for tomorrow's speaker.
Evidence of Learning - Students will illustrate their research on theme #5.
Friday - Dr. Trent Barstad
Learning Target - When students leave Mr. Reynolds class, they will have discussed and asked questions of Dr. Barstad concerning mental health issues they have researched.
Classroom Activities - Q & A with Dr. Barstad.
Homework - Have a rough draft ready to share with me by Sunday night (two parts - Research of each disorder/issue (two pages each) and survive guide (4 pages)).
Evidence of Learning - Students will illustrate their research on theme #5.
