Monday, Oct. 30
Learning Target - Students will apply the concept of "Stealing Like an Artist" and remixing ideas by carving Jack-O-Lanterns in class.
Classroom activities - Students will have the block to find patterns or concepts to carve into their jack-o-lanterns. In doing this, they will be stealing from the ideas and concepts of others.
Homework - Work on lesson plans for their self-selected chapter of "Steal Like an Artist."
Evidence of Learning - Students will demonstrate their ability to steal ideas from other people and remix them to form something original in their jack-o-lanterns.
Tuesday, Oct. 31 - On the Other Hand - Kathryn Szymanski
Learning Target - Students will present their book talks (Josiah, Kaitlyn, and Colleen). Students will craft and share with me their short 10-15 minute lesson plan for their chapter from Steal Like an Artist. Here is a link to the chapters from the book. Here is a link to the chapters you selected.
Classroom activities - Students will work alone or in groups of two to develop learning targets, classroom activities, and evidence of learning for their lesson.
Homework - Work on their lesson and begin work on their beauty scavenger hunt (which will be due next Tuesday). Students rough draft of their beauty definition essay will also be due that day as well.
Evidence of Learning - Students will share their lesson plans with me to provide feedback. Students will see the effectiveness of their learning target when they present their lessons to Mrs. Reese's fourth grade class beginning in the next few days.
Wednesday, Nov. 1 - LINC
Learning Target - Students will present their book talks (Josiah, Kaitlyn, and Colleen). Students' final day to prep their lesson plans for Steal Like an Artist.
Classroom activities - Students can have work time too on the scavenger hunt and beauty definition rough draft.
Homework - Finalize lesson plans for Tevia's class.
Evidence of Learning - Students will share their lesson plans with me to provide feedback. Students will see the effectiveness of their learning target when they present their lessons to Mrs. Reese's fourth grade class beginning in the next few days.
Thursday, Nov. 2
Learning Target - SLAA lesson plans Day #1 - Students will present their lessons to Mrs. Reese's fourth grade class.
Friday, Nov. 3
Learning Target - SLAA lesson plans Day #2 - Students will present their lessons to Mrs. Reese's fourth grade class.
