Monday (9.29)
Learning Target:
When students leave my classroom, they have presented a book talk to the entire class based off of their Sticky-Note Book Report.
Classroom Tasks:
Students will have 10 minutes to present their book talk.
Summary of book (2-3 minutes)
Discuss the aspect they are going to write their research paper on (5 minutes)
Share most odd or interesting fact about their book (2-3 minutes)
Q and A (2-5 minutes)
Homework:
Hyper-text research paper due on Wednesday.

Tuesday (9.30)

When students leave my classroom, they have been introduce to our third essay (definition essay). Assign "Pearls Before Breakfast" for Thursday. Quiz.
Classroom tasks:
Watch slideshow introducing definition essay. Brief writing assignment to illustrate the point. Discuss elements of beauty. Discuss beauty quotes.
Reading time for "Pearls Before Breakfast."
Homework:
Read "Pearls Before Breakfast" and have a rough draft of a definition of beauty for Friday.
Evidence of Learning:
Discussion and essay to follow.
Thursday (10.2)
Learning Target:
When students leave for the day, they will have read, annotated, and discussed (at the college level) the essay "Pearls Before Breakfast."
Classroom tasks:
Graded discussion of "Pearls Before Breakfast."
Share short responses on beauty.
Homework:
Assign a reading on "millennials" for Friday.

Discussion and essay to follow.

When students leave for the day, they will have read, annotated, and discussed (at the college level) the essay on millennials.
