Monday - March 12
Learning Target - Students will complete their sticky-note book report for their free reading novels.
Classroom Activities - Students will have reading time to complete their books.
Homework - None
Evidence of Learning - Students will submit their books annotated with Sticky-Notes chronicling their reading of the text.
Tuesday - March 13
Learning Target - Students will "Like a Winding Sheet" with me. We will analyze the story for plot structure, author's craft, theme, and symbolism.
Classroom Activities - We will read "Like a Winding Sheet." Students will annotate the story with Sticky-Notes analyzing plot structure, author's craft, theme, and symbolism.
Homework - None
Evidence of Learning - Students will submit their stories with annotations and then take a quiz on the story.
Wednesday - LINC/Early out - March 14
To Kill a Mockingbird -
In class readings - Ch. 1 and 2
Homework - Ch. 3
Learning Target - Students will be introduced to the themes and ideas of To Kill a Mockingbird. We will read the first two chapters.
Classroom Activities - Read Ch. 1-2 and discuss the ideas and themes introduced.
Homework -Read Ch. 3 and complete the guide. There will be a quiz tomorrow.
Evidence of Learning - Students will answer questions related to the key themes and ideas of ch. 1 and 2 in class. Then they will answer questions related specifically to Ch. 3 for homework on a guide and an in-class quiz.
Thursday - March 15
