Monday -
Learning Target - students will illustrate the main ideas from the first reading of Seth Godin's The Dip through a class discussion where they answer specific questions I ask them from my readings.
* Key concepts - the dip, a cliff, a cul-de-sac, "best" in the world, what is the biggest "lie" we tell students in school? and "leaning" into the dip.
* Turn in the Storify assignment and the reading guide.
Homework - Read pages 25-55 and answer questions and complete the double sided reading guide.
Tuesday -
Learning Target - students will illustrate the main ideas from the second reading of Seth Godin's The Dip through a class discussion where they answer specific questions I ask them from my readings.
* Key concepts - why it's good to obsess, getting out of a cul-de-sac, and what it takes to really survive the dip.
* Turn the reading guide.
Homework - Read pages 56-80 and answer questions and complete the guide.
Wednesday - LINC
Learning Target - students will illustrate the main ideas from the final reading of Seth Godin's The Dip through a class discussion where they answer specific questions I ask them from my readings.
* Key concepts - quitting as a strategy, three questions to ask yourself before quitting, and deciding in advance when to quit.
* Turn in the final reading guide.
Homework - None. Start reading second novel.
Thursday -
Learning Target - students will brainstorm ideas for their final paper on The Dip..
* Topic - in your opinion, what is the main point of The Dip - to quit or to actually stick to something? Give a personal account of when you either did one of those or when you would do one of them.
Homework - Free read novel #2 and work on Fian Dip paper.
Friday -
Learning Target - Work day on second novel or final dip paper (due on Tuesday).
