Translated in TN Sequatchie Valley Dialect by Eunce Dolly Chamberlain, wife of Rev. Amory Nelson Chamberlain, married when in Jasper, TN

Amory was born at Brainerd, Tenn., November 29, 1821; (or possibly 1818)

He married Dorothy Eunice Hoyt, a matrilineally descended Cherokee Indian of the Paint Clan.

They were forced out of Tennessee and it is believed he and his family migrated with Betsy Pack from Jasper down to Alabama with her and several other families. Eunice was related closely to Betsy Pack. They ended up in Wills Town.

In 1838, the family came with his mother from the Cherokee Nation in northern Alabama to Gibson, Susquehanna Co, Penn., with a horse and wagon.

Later on, they moved west into Indian Territory (now present day Oklahoma) where He and his fluent wife continued to translate scriptures and tracts into the Cherokee langauge.

Rev. Chamberlain died July 4, 1894.
