Reserve a Campsite in ReserveCalifornia (Visitor View)
Visitors can either search for campsites on the ReserveCaliforniaTM landing page at https://www.reservecalifornia.com/Web/, or navigate to the Camping and Lodging page from the main navigation bar.
Previously, visitors were only able to search by one park location at a time. Now, the updated Camping and Lodging page allows visitors to search all parks at once for available reservations with the Search All option in the location drop down list.
Once visitors have selected a park, they are taken to that park location’s page where they can continue searching for the facility they want to reserve.
When viewing available dates in the Site List, visitors can now sort by Availability or Favorite from the Sort by drop-down menu. Sorting by Availability will show visitors the campsites in the order of what is available for the dates they selected.
Favorite is a new feature visitors can use to mark specific campsites as their favorites by clicking the heart icon to the right of the site name. Then, they can filter campsite results by their favorites by selecting Favorite from the Sort By dropdown menu.
The visitor can select their preferred site from the Site List and click the Book Now button on the right side of the page to continue with the booking process.
If the visitor is not already logged into their ReserveCaliforniaTM account, they will be prompted to log in or sign up for an account after clicking the Book Now button.
After a visitor clicks Book Now and logs in to their account, they are taken to the Reservation Details page, which has some updates as well.
The Extra Information section on the Reservation Details page has been updated to include a new Occupant Phone Number field, and the vehicle fields have been moved to a new section called Vehicle Information.
The new Vehicle Information section is located underneath the rate classifications and provides direct information about the selected campsite unit’s maximum vehicles allowed and any vehicle restrictions. Note: The maximum number of allowed vehicles indicated in this section is equal to the number of vehicles that can be added (i.e. “Maximum 3 vehicles allowed” = up to 3 vehicles can be added).
To add a vehicle, visitors can click the ‘+ Add Vehicle’ button. The following fields will display for each vehicle added: Select Vehicle Class, Vehicle Due In, and Vehicle Due Out.
After clicking ‘+ Add Vehicle’, the ‘Vehicle Details #1’ section will display, and the first vehicle added here will default to the Primary Vehicle Class, which cannot be edited. The Due In and Due Out dates will default to the reservation dates, and also cannot be edited for the first vehicle added.
Visitors can add additional vehicles by clicking the ‘+ Add Vehicle’ button again. The ‘Vehicle Details #2’ section will display, and the Vehicle Class field will default to Extra Vehicle, which cannot be edited. However, the visitor can adjust the Due In and Due Out dates for the added vehicles.
Visitors can also click the Add More Details drop-down button on any of the added vehicles to enter information into the License Plate, State, and Vehicle Type fields for each vehicle. Please note: These additional fields are optional for visitors.
There is also an orange exclamation point icon and a warning message that display when an extra vehicle is added, letting the visitor know that there is an additional charge for extra vehicles upon check-in.
