Equal Access tours are ONLY for visitors requiring mobility assistance who cannot make the 3-4-mile round trip hike on the regular public tour. Older adults and visitors with temporary disabilities qualify for Equal Access tours.
The Equal Access van accommodates up to 2 individuals in wheelchairs and 8 individuals in seats. Individuals requiring a wheelchair can bring their own wheelchair or borrow one from the park. Individuals may also bring walkers, canes, or other mobility devices, which can be easily stored within the van. Each person needing mobility assistance can purchase tickets for up to 3 guests. If the wheelchairs are unoccupied, there is only room in the van for 8 people. Multiple tours can be booked for a specific timeslot, but total visitors cannot exceed 8 seated individuals and 2 individuals in wheelchairs per tour.
Equal Access guided tours are led by a docent naturalist on a .2-mile accessible boardwalk for visitors needing mobility assistance. This boardwalk is accessed with use of a van provided by the park.
The price is $7.00/person. There is a $10.00 entrance fee per vehicle upon entering the park.
