Lindsey Creek Bench Cut
HCRH State Trail
Dedicated: 2019
From east end of The Mossy Road on past the Warren Creek area, the original highway is under the interstate, or blasted away to make room for it.

The discussion has moved to cutting through the cliff at the end of The Mossy Road, an HCRH style piece of engineering, and continuing the cut down the slope to the creek.
I am not sure how this would effect plans for the overlook and, in general, the new trail would run a little below the survey line I followed.
I am not sure if it will follow the old grade at the bottom, either... Could be wagon road down there, I don't know yet for sure.
Above, the note claimed this was the "Bench cut view from Shellrock Mountain," but this is obviously not on Shellrock.
Below, some photos from the old, proposed alignment above the actual State Trail.
"At the high point of the trail, a short spur trail would allow access to an overlook with spectacular 270 degree views of the Columbia River."

Looking at the image above, I can only imagine researchers in 2120 looking at that new access grade up to the bench cut and wondering if it was old highway!
In 2013, things got rather confusing near Lindsey Creek. There was an old road bed that ran above I-84 down the hill to the east of the proposed overlook, but it seems older and not in the same condition as the known highway segments. Could it be the remains of the old Wagon Road?
For awhile I was wondering if the rock formation in Markham No. 57 was this formation on Starvation Ridge, but now I am pretty sure it is actually approaching McCord Creek. Let me know your thoughts!
