Recently, in the Facebook group, there was speculation that the buildings in the photo above were once the service station at Coopey Falls. At this point, I have no idea what the actual names of these businesses were.
"In 1929, Ray Holtgrieve purchased a restaurant and auto court, formerly part of the Jacobson estate, which had been purchased by William and Louise Lawrence. When prohibition ended, Holtgrieve added a bar. Eventually, he added cabins, obtained drift (fishing) rights on the Columbia River, and built up quite a thriving business complex. Holtgrieve died in 1962 and his descendants sold the various enterprises in 1969. All now (2006) are closed."
