"The town of Dodson, now haunted by evidence of past glory, includes the former store building, which seems to be a repository for miscellaneous items that someone hopes to sell [2001]. A couple of derelict signs that formerly advertised motels stand abandoned, a gaunt reminder of the more prosperous days for roadside businesses before I-84 was built. When Bonneville Dam was under construction (1933-1938), Dodson became a temporary home for many families who worked on the project. Children of dam workers swelled school populations in the area, including the enrollment at Columbian High School in Corbett."

"Dodson was a railway station named after Ira Dodson, an early settler. The Dodson station was moved many times during its history, including once being located near today's Warrendale."

"Dodson was once the site of the McGowan salmon cannery and fish wheel (1900)."
