According to Mershon, the Sherman's Inn was located on the right side of the highway (eastbound), 1.3 miles past the Hollywood Dairy.
...the former Sherman Inn... is now a residence. Alice Sherman, who decorated the Inn with a montage of furniture, relics, plants and souvenir plates, served her clientele for more than thirty years into the late '60s. The house specialty, Virginia baked ham, brought many return customers to the Inn.
A '37 advertisement stated:
"Sherman's Inn, in summer COLUMBIA RIVER BAKED SALMON DINNER. All year 'round VIRGINIA BAKED HAM. Shell service and Products, YOUR SATISFACTION, OUR PLEASURE."
...the inn stayed open until Granny died in 1979.
