I am not sure if there is anything historical here or not. I read about a couple USFS structures or cabins being located a mile west of the freeway off-ramp, and I couldn't remember anything in that area. Nothing shows up on Google Earth, either. However the USGS map below does show that there were once a couple structures at this location. They may still be there, for all I know, hidden back in the trees. I've never noticed them before.

DETAIL - USGS - 1994 Carson, WA

"Located immediately south of the old FS buildings (1 mile west of the I-84 Wyeth freeway exit) is a prominent low elevation buttress a short distance above the #400 trail and immediately east of Grays Creek. ... Park along the shoulder of the road and proceed south from the cabin buildings on a narrow track."
