Blasted Northern Loop

Route 2

Remnant of Northern HCRH Loop (2014)Historic Columbia River Highway. Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. Oregon. January 3, 2014Copyright © 2014 A. F. Litt , All Rights Reserved

The Shellrock Mountain segment is obliterated by the construction of the freeway at Summit Creek, swinging to the north into the path of I-84 just before the creek.

Across I-84, on the north side of the freeway and the east side of the creek, there is a barely recognizable remnant of the old highway. It is almost completely destroyed and probably completely inaccessible.
