Mosier Falls
Waterfalls Northwest: Mosier Falls
...after passing through Hood River, the landscape very suddenly turns arid and a sense that waterfall country has been left behind can quickly arise. Approaching the rolling hills near Mosier, one most likely wouldn't know to look for waterfalls, but Mosier Creek drops over one of the most scenic on the dry side of the Gorge.
The echoing sounds of the creek remain confined within the canyon walls itself, creating an eerily calm and quiet scene until overlooking the 70 foot falls. Several benches speckle the landscape providing places to pause and reflect. Be cautious about Rattlesnakes and Ticks in this area, it is prime habitat.

"...commonly referred to as Mosier Creek Falls, but it appears that the more simplified Mosier Falls is the precedent set by various historical and local references."

"'In 1854 Jonah Mosier settled here so he could use this waterfall to power a sawmill,' reads a trail side park bench overlooking Mosier Creek Falls."

"...if you’re feeling more adventurous, jump off the cliff into the sparkling pool below that is surprisingly warm in the summer."

"...a popular local swimming hole and sunning spot. The reason is a nice deepish pool between the tiers that's fun to jump into from the surrounding rocks. The water is surprisingly warm in the summer (at least by gorge standards). Kids love it on ultra hot days... The waterfall and pool area also get great happy-hour sunshine, so if you go around 5pm on a hot summer day, expect some drinkin'"
