¾ C sugar
⅔ C dark corn syrup
¼ C milk
¼ C oil
½ t bk pwd.
¼ t cloves
1 t anise extract
¼ t cardamon
½ t vanilla
¼ t salt
4½ C flour
Combine sugar, corn syrup, milk and oil in pan, heat to boiling. Cool. Stir in remaining ingred. Except flour. Mix in enough flour to make a very stiff dough, kneading in the last addition. Chill.
Shape dough into ¼ in. thick rolls on board dusted with pwd. Sugar. Cut each roll into ⅜” in long pieces. Bake 350° - 8-10 min. Cool on pan before removing.
