Another story is told by a good friend of the 'pie' she made for Bishop Terry Smith as a result of a bet between the Elder's quorum and the Relief Society Sisters? (She was RS PRES. and the relationship with Terry was warm and loving.....usually). I don't remember the BET, but I remember the result. The RS LOST. The sisters had to make pie for everyone in the ward. I had visions of 15-20 sisters baking one
pie each....Maxine didn't like that plan. She had someone in the ward (maybe it was Hank) make
her a couple of pie pans that EXACTLY fit into her oven....How big is that? Maybe 3 feet round? She made and baked crusts for each of those enormous pie pans, then made a pudding filling.
As I recall, they were lemon cream and coconut cream pies.......TWO pies, cut in enough pieces
for the whole ward. Somebody may remember the details better than I, but it was VERY impressive.
