MILE HIGH STRAWBERRY PIE
~~~ Maxine had 2 sets of instructions for the Mile High filling. The ingredients were the same; the instructions differed.
Beat egg whites until fluffy. Add berries, sugar and lemon juice. Beat at high speed for 15 minutes. Fold in whipped cream. Pour in cool crust and freeze. (Can keep 6 weeks) (Wrap in waxed paper) ~~~
CRUMB CRUST
1 C sifted flour
¼ C br sugar
½ C chopped nuts
½ C butter melted
Bake 350° for about 20 min (or less) stir occasionally
