Maxine's Recipe ~ English Toffee

⭐  English Toffee

2 ½  C sugar

1 lb butter

⅔  C water

Place in heavy sauce pan. Bring to boil stirring.  Wash down sides - cook to 300° (good thermometer) 

Pour out on cookie sheet - while still warm, add choc. & finely ch. (& toasted) nuts.
