¾ C sugar
⅔ C dark corn syrup
¼ C milk
¼ C oil
½ t baking Pwd.
¼ t cloves
1 tsp Anise extract
¼ tsp cardamon
½ tsp vanilla
¼ t salt
4 ½ C sifted flour (about)
Combine liquids, small sauce pan, heat to boil - Cool.
Stir in remaining ingrd. except flour. Then mix in enough flour to make very stiff dough - knead in last addition. Chill.
Shape dough into ¼ inch slender rolls - snakes - roll in pwdr Sugar dusted surface. Cut each roll into ⅜ inch long pieces.
Bake on lightly greased cookie sheet in 350° oven 8-10 min. Or until delicate brown on bottom.
Cool on sheet before removing - keep in covered containers.
