Senior Hurling

All roads lead to Ballyduff next Sunday as we take on our near neighbours Lismore in our third game of the group stages of the senior hurling championship. It should be a cracking contest with Lismore as firm favourites given they supplied three players to the county team last Sunday. Lismore were narrowly beaten by Fourmilewater in their first game and with their next game being rescheduled they will be straining at the leash to open their account. Tallow have been training well under Terence Mc Sweeney and we hope that we will summon the spirit of two years ago and give it an almighty effort against our local rivals. Throw-in is at 7pm and your support would be greatly appreciated.

Junior Hurling

Ballyduff is also the venue this Friday June 7th for our second game in the group stages of the junior championship. Having lost our first game narrowly we hope to bounce back with a victory here. Throw in is at 7:30.

Tallow Tostal

A huge thank you to the organising committee and the people of Tallow who turned out in force to celebrate the Tallow Gathering and to honour the Tinker himself, Michael Prendergast. His fame and influence in the Big Apple was emphasised by the fact that the Mayor of New York, Michael Bloomberg also sent a letter of congratulations to the great man. We had esteemed visitors from Waterford including Ken Mc Grath, Brian and Jim Greene and Damien Byrne as well as the Tallow contingent from Boston and New York who all ensured a great night a celebration in the Community Centre.

Congratulations

Congratulations to Oscar Cunningham who picked up €200 in the Deise Draw last month, no doubt delighting his parents!

Best Wishes

Former senior and junior Tallow hurler Maurice O Brien ties the knot in Carlingford Co Louth this weekend with a woman from the Wee County, Tina Connolly. Biscuit was scorer of one of the great Tallow goals against Stradbally (even if the halftime whistle was blown) a frighteningly long time ago, and we wish them every happiness in the future together.
