Senior Hurling semi-final
Next Saturday at 4pm in Fraher Field our senior hurlers take on near neighbours Ballyduff at the penultimate stage of the senior hurling championship. Having come through against Lismore we face another stern examination of nerve, skill and physicality against a Ballyduff team who were ultra-impressive against Mount Sion in the quarter final. Having taught Ballygunner a hurling lesson to win a county title just a few short years ago Ballyduff have been at the top table of Waterford senior hurling since then, regularly contesting county quarter finals and semi finals and frequently finding success against teams with bigger reputations. The vast majority of their team have senior county medals and know how to win on the big occasion, especially when the game is tight, as it invariably will be at this stage of the competition. We hope for a good competitive contest and some more high drama. Your support, as always, is appreciated.
