Western u21 hurling

Cois Bhride 1-20 St Olivers 1-11

We qualified for the Western u21 semifinal in style with a nine point win over St Olivers. We now play the winners of An Rinn and Ballyduff though no date has been fixed yet.

St Oliver's led by two points to one after six minutes, all the scores coming from placed balls. Robbie O Sullivan scored two more frees and then a Jordan Henley point from play meant we were up by one, four points to three, after fifteen minutes. A Colm Roche goal later in the half gave us a goal advantage at halftime as we led 1-8 to 0-8.

In the second half we turned the screw and, spurred on by excellent performances from Shane Roche, Colm Roche and Jordan Henley along with the usual accurate free-taking from Robbie O Sullivan we ran out nine point winners.

Gary Duffin Tournament

CLG Tulach an Iarainn are still looking for host families to house some young Tyrone hurlers on Friday 24th October so if you want to do your bit to promote our game and give these youngsters an experience to remember please contact Liam O Maolcacha or Runai Lindsay Murphy

County Final

The two best teams that Tallow played this year were Ballygunner and Dungarvan and it showed last Sunday as the Gunners, having sneaked past Dungarvan in the semifinal, were well on top of a Mount Sion side who needed to take their goal chances to have any hope of keeping in the game with their city neighbours.
