With the Tallow ground looking resplendent with acknowledge due to the field committee it is no wonder this game was a cracker in the searing summer heat. We got a flurry of points with Abbeyside responding with two majors which had them in the driving seat. Our seanfhear got his goal to put us back in the game. In the second half our yellow helmeted wonder got two goals that lit up the evening such were their quality of execution . Cois Bhride : U15 Quarter Final : Cois Bhride 0-8 Clonea 4-14

Another summer sizzler awaited this u15 tie. After having a very solid league campaign optimism was high going into this. Sometimes games can take a turn and there can be no comeback. They also say that no one man can win a game but in young Power from Clonea at full forward and from my own viewpoint he was head and shoulders above any player I have seen at this grade. Physique can play a big part at underage hurling but pure hurling wizardry is what was on show here. We were blitzed in the first half and at half time the game was effectively over with us trailing 3-07 to 2 points . We could have played a defensive game but that wasn't going to win us the game ( it would have lowered the scoring) and while Power was the outstanding talent he was aided by a strong backup that were well coached. We tacked on points in the second half and with Conor and Aidan at the spine of our attacked very were marshalled we made no real inroads in the scoreboard to mount an assault on their lead. We hope that the boys can learn from this defeat . It will have hurt them bad and I for one felt deflated after .They are a good committed bunch and I have no doubt will in the years that follow will be eager to better themselves.
