Against a bigger more physical team our beginning of the game did not inspire hope. Our backline was exposed and a goal scored inside a minute of the game. We needed a response and we did so as Aidan Murphy crashed the ball to the net from a close ranged ground stroke. We were up and motoring at this stage. Conor Henley scored a wonderful soloed effort in which he crashed the ball to the net off his hurley. Our midfield of Joe McDonnell and Stephen Murphy got the grips with their opponents and grafted and used their skills and intelligence to get us a strangle hold in the section., Coupled with some fine catches by centre back Ben Grey the team had a strong position coming into half time. Conor had a fine outing from placed balls and he punished any indiscretions. The second half was a much tighter and physical game. Danny Power got on a lot of ball and although he didn't get on the scoreboard his use of the ball warranted praise. Billy Murphy isteach as cúl produced a wonder save as he somehow mangled to deflect a pile driver over the bar as the ball was struck from just outside the square. Jack Henley against a bigger opponent battled gamely and inspired the team with good solid defending without fouling. He was aided by Harvey Hagan who's battling qualities shone out in the last ten minutes when needed.

Team :Billy Murphy, Keith Martin, Jack Henley, Gearoid Hynes, Harvey Hagan, Ben Grey, Taylor Toohig, Joe McDonnell, Steve Murphy, Paul Henley, Conor Henley, Danny Power, Alex Goode, Aidan Murphy, Ben Sheehan. Subs used Darragh O'Brien and Shay Pratt.
