Senior Hurling

We open our senior hurling championship campaign this coming Sunday May 6th against Dunhill in Dungarvan. After a long absence from the senior ranks Dunhill captured the county intermediate title last year in fine style and will be primed for the challenge of an established senior team like Tallow. Forward power and pace is what their team is all about with at least two of their forwards having senior intercounty experience and many of their team being graduates of a Dunhill/Fenor selection who reached a minor 'A' county final three years ago.

Come the throw-in, all talk of last year's achievements and the run to the county final will be forgotten as a good start is vital to our progress from the group stages. Throw-in is at 7:30 and we would hope to see as many followers as possible there.

Junior Football

Our junior footballers collected their second win in a row last Saturday evening with a 4-5 to 0-4 victory over our neighbours Shamrocks. Shamrocks started the better, establishing a three points to one lead after ten minutes. Tallow then rallied to score two goals from the brothers Michael and William Curley and two points from Kieran Geary and Kevin Curley in the remainder of the half to leave us 2-3 to 0-3 ahead at the interval.

The second half saw us consolidate our lead with goals from substitute Alan Curley and an outstanding left-footed drive from Mark O Brien along with points from Kieran Geary and Kevin Curley leaving us thirteen points ahead at the final whistle..

Team: JP Grey, D Martin, B Henley, E Curley, S Pratt, D O Brien, A Pratt, K Curley, P O Brien, R O Sullivan, K Geary, M Curley, W Curley, C Browne, K Henley. Subs used A Curley and K Fraser.

Best Wishes
