Junior Hurling

We play Lismore in the knockout stages of the junior hurling championship in Ballyduff on Friday evening 13th September at 7pm. Manager Colin Cunningham has introduced a lot of youth into the team this year and we wish them all the best.

Senior Hurling

Mount Sion is the opposition for us in the county quarter final this Sunday in Fraher Field at 1.30. The city side topped a tough group which included Ballygunner and Passage so we will have it all to do. Aside from one poor half against Lismore, our performances have been solid this year and we will hope for more intelligence and battling this Sunday. We wish Terence and his troops all the best and hope for a good Tallow support on the day

Comhbhron

On Behalf of Tallow GAA club we offer our sympathies to the Mc Carthy and Hogan families on the sad passing of Moss Mc Carthy Parkdotia Tallow. Ar dheis De go raibh a anam

Congratulations

To Mary Murphy and Veronica O Brien we offer congratulations and a hearty well done for winning prizes in the August Deise Draw.

Minor All Ireland

Well done to Cois Bhride and Knockanore man Colm Roche who is the proud possessor of an Ireland medal after his significant three-point contribution to a superb team performance. In the end it was gloriously simple (though far from easy) as we doubled down our efforts anytime Galway got to within sniffing distance and motored away with the minimum of fuss. In between All Ireland semifinals and finals Croke Park has almost always been a venue of wides and slow starts and struggles for the Deise faithful but on this occasion we established early on and dictated the pace of the game. Having been critical of them after the semifinal we must commend the management for cutting down on silly fouling and increasing the interplay among the forwards. With two Harty cups, an All Ireland colleges title and now a minor All Ireland we are obviously loaded with talent in the 17-19 age bracket and let's hope that this group can develop further and meet the challenges ahead.
