Strictly Come Dancing

Only a few more days now until the dancers take the stage this Saturday for our Strictly Come Dancing fundraiser. They have a path worn to the hall practicing and I would imagine they are going to bed at night with the steps wandering around in their heads. Just a quick update on the night itself. The show will start at 8.30pm. Admission is 15 euro, under 18s admission is 5 euro. Under 18s welcome for the duration of the dancing but they will have to leave the hall once the dancing finishes. We have a DJ and bar extension after the show so you can try out your own moves!! Our MC on the night is Gerty Murphy. Judges are Ken McGrath, Geraldine Cannning and Liam Moroney. We have a raffle at half time with some fabulous prizes which were locally sponsored. The running order of the dancers is as follows: Pat and Josephine Henley, John Pratt and Veronica Henley, Karen Landers and Michael Delaney, Willie McDonnell and Theresa Costigan, Linda Casey and Ciara Hallahan, Jimmy Mangan and Anne Tobin.

The event is also on Facebook - Strictly Come Dancing Tallow if you could give the page a share and a like!!!!!

Tickets are on sale from Fordes, Donna or Denis. Alternatively you can purchase them at the door on the night. A great night to look forward to, this Saturday June 4th at Tallow Community Centre 8.30pm

Junior Football: Talllow 0-10 Lismore 2-10

The junior football was a local derby held on Friday evening last, in glorious sunshine!! The first score of the game went Lismore's way when they converted a free 5 minutes into the game. Ryan grey pointed soon after, receiving a pass from Michael Curley. Lismore's converted 2 frees but Donnchadh kept us in it with his own converted free. In the last quarter of the opening half Tallow stayed in the game through scores from the boot of Michael Curley and Donnchadh Mulcahy. Some fine defending in this first half from Bob McCarthy, Alan Curley and Eric Hickey ensured Lismore's shots on goal never rattled the net. Half time score Lismore's 0-7 Tallow 0-4.

Both teams exchanged points at the start of the second half, leaving 3 between the teams. We have often heard the saying "goals win matches," well this just happened to be the case last Friday. The 2 goals scored by Lismore proved the difference in the end and while Tallow seemed to dominate the last 15 minutes of the game they just couldn't manage to claw back those 6 points. Final score Lismore 2-10 Tallow 0-10.

Tallow scorers: D Mulcahy (0-4 1f) M Curley (0-3 45 1f) T Daly R Grey J Neville (0-1 each)

Subs: M Murphy.

Tallow: W Curley, A Curley, B McCarthy, E Hickey, S O Sullivan, K Fraser, K Henley, M O Brien, J Neville, M Curley, R Grey, T Daly, E Sheehan, D Mulcahy, M Tobin.
